YOUR LEARNING, YOUR DATA
Privacy in plain language.
Without an account
Your course choices, theme, attempts, confusion markers and assignment checklists stay in your browser. You can export or import them in settings. Clearing browser storage removes local data. GitHub Pages may log visitor IP addresses for its own service security.
With an account
atlas stores a username, a securely hashed password, session records and learning events on the configured atlas server. Events synchronize your progress across devices. Typed answer text is not part of the synced event model. This is independent learning evidence, not a school grade.
Optional aggregate analytics
Analytics are off by default. If you opt in, atlas counts feature use and concept-level attempts, misses, hints and confusion. It does not include typed answers, search text, passwords or private homework. Admin sees aggregates rather than an individual learner dashboard. Consented accounts may contribute coarse daily activity used to measure return usage. Opting out stops new analytics; existing unidentifiable aggregate counts cannot be separated back into individual contributions.
Requests
Help requests store the text you choose to submit, request category, optional course and optional reply email. Please do not include grades, private classroom data or assessed answers. Attachments are not accepted. Public GitHub issues are visible to others.
Deletion and shared devices
Signed-in users can delete their account using a password confirmation in settings. This removes server events, sessions, daily account activity and linked requests, plus this browser’s account store. Other devices may retain local copies until you clear them. Server backups may retain deleted records until their retention window expires; the operator must apply deletion requests when restoring a backup.
Guest requests without an account need a separate deletion request to the server operator. Password recovery is not available yet. On shared devices, sign out and clear local data as appropriate.
External resources
Teacher websites, calendar links and learning references have their own policies. No third-party video embeds or remote fonts load automatically. This atlas release links source material rather than mirroring copyrighted worksheets, transcripts or textbooks.
