Undo one operation at a time

To isolate a quantity, do the same operation to both sides. Undo addition or subtraction before multiplication or division. Keep every term when using brackets.

Rearranging formulas

Move whole factors by multiplying or dividing both sides. Squaring or taking a root changes the entire side. Check your rearrangement with .
