Describing Motion Formal Lab teacher instructions

Use this alongside Describing Motion Formal Lab teacher instructions.

The actual lab question

Decide whether the toy car exhibits uniform motion in one run. Record at least ten time intervals, with a repeatable procedure. Use a position/time table and a second interval-/ table.

The four analysis tasks

Calculate interval and total average velocities, showing a sample of each calculation. Fit the position–time graph and find mathematically and with the computer. Plot interval velocities at their midpoint times. Interpret the and variation using your own data.

Questions

  1. 1–2

Find interval velocities and total average from your car run.

    Walk through
  2. 3–4

Draw the two requested graphs and interpret the position–time .
